A Mother’s Gift
I was raised by a woman who drummed into me, “Listen to your tummy.”
Which I’m deeply grateful for. Given no rhyme or reason for believing anything other than what my mom told me, listening to the feeling in my belly became my guiding light for decision-making, keeping myself safe, and knowing when to leap.
A powerful filter to teach a boy, and one that served me well…
Until I became so incoherent I could no longer feel the signal.
Adulthood has taught me that your tummy is the most honest guide we humans have, but doesn’t function perfectly out of the box. They can easily become confused. They’re often ignored, abandoned, and betrayed. You need to find your frequency.
Thus, your intuition’s potency and accuracy hinges on your coherence.
If you’re coherent, all is well.
Most aren’t though.
I wasn’t born coherent. Neither were you. None of us were.
In truth, I spent most of my life being battered about by incoherence, reacting swiftly to emotional impulses while calling them fate and deleting my own sovereignty.
But I didn’t know any better.
There were no Inner World Construction classes offered in school.
Incoherence is a silent epidemic: affecting anyone who hasn’t made the conscious choice to align their head, heart, and body. This alignment won’t happen by accident, doesn’t come pre-set out of the womb, and is never granted. Only earned.
Incoherence vs. Coherence
If you’ve never experienced being coherent, you don’t know what you’re missing.
Literally. You can’t know what you haven’t embodied. And again, coherence doesn’t just happen. Coherence only arises when you consistently choose to build it.
The idea of existing in a different frequency from the one you’re in right now is incredibly challenging to conceptualize and believe is even possible…
But boy can you ever weave the tapestry of your inner world to your design.
I promise you this.
Remember, remember: you’re sovereign, after all.
Incoherence has been normalized by our cultural addiction to rewarding masks, celebrating toxic productivity, emotional suppression, and surface-level performance.
Imagine trying to row a boat with one oar pulling forward, one oar backward, while sitting on the boat’s floor instead of the bench. Bon voyage, Captain. You’re expending energy and you’re working hard, but you’re rowing round in circles.
That’s where incoherence leads.
Now imagine your head, heart, and body are aligned. Your strokes are smooth and in sync. You’re sitting on the bench, not the floor. You have leverage. You can see. You’ll face waves, but you cut through them, rather than crashing out or spinning about.
That’s coherence in action.
Coherence provides structure…
and releases something subtle,
something deliciously potent.
The Perfume of Intuition
Coherence comes when your head, heart, and body—your beliefs, actions, words, and values—are all aligned, all singing in harmony. Nothing is abandoned or betrayed.
… Nothing.
From a coherent state wafts your intuition:
The subtle “yes” or “no”, the shiver running down your spine, the moment your breath catches, the felt sense of direction or decision before your mind names it.
You know what to do, when to leap, where to push, which path to take.
This is the inner guidance system that activates when your head, heart, and body have been carefully and lovingly nurtured into deep, honest, and true alignment.
So be a ship for a moment: where coherence is your hull, your mast, your sails.
Your intuition reads the current, the wind, the stars.
If your ship is damaged, you might get caught off guard by a storm, misinterpret the wind, glance past a star, or succumb to a leak in your hull or a tear in your sail.
If you fight the current, ignore the wind, and don’t reference the stars, even the most perfect, impressive, shippiest ship that ever shipped will go nowhere but in circles.
Resynchronization
(If you haven’t sipped The Tonic of Coherence yet, here you go.)
You now have the capacity to receive, to listen and live true to you; rather than whatever nonsense the world expects—or worse, thinks you should do.
Remember, remember: you’re sovereign after all.
As coherence strengthens, your intuitive signal becomes more and more audible.
You’ll feel “this is right” or “not yet” without strong logical reasoning. You’ll just know.
And those actions will be the “right” ones.
You act from signal, not an arbitrary plan. So the moves you make are aligned, not forced. Coherence supports and holds you, while your intuition nudges and guides.
With repetition, the feedback loop begins:
Each time you trust the signal and act, you either strengthen and sharpen your intuition (if alignment holds), or you get clarifying feedback (if you acted too early or with force). This is necessary learning, self-understanding, and refinement.
Rinse and repeat.
As the feedback loop tightens, your intuitive “ping” grows consistent, more honest.
You feel before you think. You won’t have to force, reach for, or contrive answers and ideas. Instead, they’ll bubble up from within, profoundly, like ancient knowings.
Your actions will feel lighter, more fluid, more obvious, more “of course that’s the direction I need to head.” Not because they’re easy, but because they’re true.
And denying the truth, your truth, is fucking stupid. Don’t.
When you ignore your intuitive signal, you’ll feel chaotic, contracted, and drained.
When you follow your innate pings, you’ll feel expansion, clarity, and presence.
Even so, following your intuition doesn’t promise a perfect or easy life—but does align you towards one, if you commit to staying the course through whatever comes.
You will make mistakes, but as feedback, not disasters—opportunities to learn where coherence slipped and how you can recalibrate. When you listen to your signal and act, or pause, you’ll learn which parts of you are aligned and which still need work.
These are beautiful revelations, even if sometimes bitter.
Taste them anyway.
Savour them regardless.
Integrate them always.
With love from the fog,
